Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical Districts of Benguet and San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, worked hand in hand to conduct Lingap Sa Mamamayan (Care for Humanity) events at respective venues.

Those in San Carlos City held theirs at Urbiztondo Multipurpose Gym, Pangasinan on October 28, then at Bayambang Sports Complex on October 31, both led by Brother Eduardo Olipas, San Carlos City, Pangasinan district supervising minister.

“I’m grateful for this great help for my family,” said Ramon Quijano, a resident of Brgy. Payar.

“The Church continues carrying out activities like this in obedience to the Lord God’s command to help those in need,” shared Brother Romeo Empay, district edification overseer.

In Benguet, the Lingap sa Mamamayan events were consecutively held on October 31. Led by the district supervising minister, Brother Jessy Capuno, the first one was held in the morning at Bokod National High School Covered Court, Barangay Pito, Bokod, Benguet, while the next was held in the afternoon at Itogon Municipal Gym, Itogon, Benguet, led by other ministers assigned in the district.

The said venues are respectively about 70 and 18 kilometers away from the district office in Baguio City.

Among the Brgy. Pito, Bokod residents who received care packages were Martha Dugaysan and Helen Caluscos. “I’m grateful to the Church Of Christ for looking after us,” expressed Martha. “It’s heartwarming to see the Church’s efforts. These care packages will help us make it through these tough times,” said Helen. — With reports from Samantha Butuyan of INC News Section
