The Christian Brotherhood International (CBI) members from the ecclesiastical districts of Cebu City, Cebu and Negros Oriental, both located in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines, simultaneously led evangelical missions on October 13, 2023.

In Cebu City, Cebu, brethren all over the district brought their guests to the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Tisa. Brother Eli Suralta, district edification overseer, led the study of the words of the Lord God. He emphasized from the Bible that in order for a person to receive salvation on Judgment Day, he must enter the Lord’s flock, that is, the Church Of Christ.

Through the combined efforts of the brethren, the said evangelical mission resulted in many guests deciding to continue listening to the teachings upheld in the Church. One of them, named Adam Lauro, said, “My cousin invited me to attend in this evangelical mission. Upon listening, I am now interested in the teachings being upheld by the Church Of Christ.”

Meanwhile, all the local congregations in Negros Oriental had their evangelical missions led by the ministers who constitute the district leadership.

Brother Renato Callejo, district supervising minister, officiated at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Dumaguete City; Brother James Jasper Villanueva, assistant supervising minister, at that of Bayawan City; Brother Melchor Reyes, edification overseer, at Tanjay City; Brother Joel Arias, Christian Family Organizations overseer, at Siaton; and Brother Marcelino Magtalas, Light of Salvation district overseer, at Mabinay.

The brethren’s, especially the CBI members’, united efforts resulted in more than 1,000 guests, who were able to learn from the Bible the importance of receiving the knowledge that will bring them to salvation, that is, becoming and remaining active members of the Church Of Christ.

A guest of the Bais City Congregation named Rose Obina who said it was her first time to attend an evangelical mission in the Church Of Christ shared, “I was so amazed of the orderliness inside the house of worship, the harmonious voices of the choir members.” She added, “Most importantly, the answers to the questions were all read in the Bible. I think what I’ve heard during the study of God’s words is what all people should know.”

Reflecting the collective sentiment of the CBI officers like her, Aira Taborda from Dumaguete City Congregation, said in an interview: “I will continue inviting and persuading my fellowmen to listen to the teachings upheld in the Church Of Christ, so that many more people may receive salvation on Judgment Day.” — With reports from Jemaima Jamito and Jonathan Rempillo of INC News Section
