On January 23, 2022, choir members from various local congregations across the Ecclesiastical District of Mountain States attended a special gathering. The activity was officiated from the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Las Vegas, Nevada by Brother Artemio Pilon Jr., the district supervising minister. His homily was live-streamed to various remote sites.

“One of the things that stood out to me during the lesson was how our duty is given to us by our Almighty God. He chose us to fulfill this duty,” Michelle Barilea, a choir member from West Las Vegas Local Congregation, said.

“In the lesson, when it was said that we are choir members not just because we want to but because we are chosen by God, it was very humbling even though we lacked characteristics. I am thankful. I will never take my duty for granted, and I will hold on to this until the end,” Anne Macy Gatus, choir leader of the Local Congregation of Las Vegas, said.

“Everyone in our family is a choir member. Our life revolves around it. It has been a great blessing … we are closer to our Lord God when we are performing our duties. We are able to praise our Lord God through hymn-singing,” Gatus added.

Besides those who were in the chapel, other choir members in the district attended the holy gathering from their homes through videoconferencing. — With reports from INC News Section
