For the benefit of brethren who are Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) enlisted in various local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Malaysia and their respective families, the district held the first OFW Family Day in the district on March 21, 2022.

Through the Christian Family Organizations (CFO), the district set up a virtual room for the OFWs and their families. Via videoconferencing, OFWs were able to spend time with their parents, spouse, and children even though they are far away.

Opening the activity, Brother John Romanillos, the district CFO overseer, taught a Bible-based lesson to the brethren reminding them that God expects the families of His people to be united in serving Him.

As a part of the activity, a slideshow presentation of family photos from the brethren brought back memories from when they were together, especially when performing Church duties. The attendees were also treated to some recorded performances of original Iglesia Ni Cristo music. Interactive games were also facilitated during the program.

“The activity was very inspiring, especially for those whose families are away from them,” said Joel Manaois, a Buklod member. “We were able to connect and participate together as families.”

“I thank the Lord God for guiding the families inside the Church through the leadership of the Church Administration,” said Jvee Villanueva, a CFO officer. “We promise to continue being active in our faith no matter what happens. We will continue performing our duties in the Church and we will actively participate in all Church activities.”

“The Overseas Filipino Workers family day activity brought inspiration to our OFW brethren here in Malaysia and their families. They were happy to see their loved ones during the activity and it gave them a chance to be with them even virtually,” Brother John stated. — With reports from INC News Section
