The Ecclesiastical District of Eastern Ontario is one with the entire Church in holding simultaneous evangelical missions on January 26, 2024. The district also held a baptism three days later.

The evangelical missions were held at the houses of worship of the local congregations of Durham, Rouge Park, Markham, Scarborough, and Victoria. These were officiated by Brother Paquito Ibañez Jr., district supervising minister; Brother Marlon Guinto, assistant district supervising minister; and Brothers Emiliano Magtuto Jr., Pastor Palacios, and Bernard Diwa, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) School For Ministers (INC-SFM) minister-instructors.

During the study of God’s words, the ministers emphasized to the attendees that as death is inevitable to man’s life, so is Judgment Day because no other than the Almighty God appointed both of these. Quoting from the Holy Scriptures, the ministers further explained that people must enter the one true Church—the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) to be saved on that fateful day.

“I accepted the invitation because I wanted to learn more about the doctrines upheld by this Church,” said Fatima Domingo, one the guests. “The lesson about Judgment Day truly caught my attention. I do not want to be condemned on that day.”

The aforementioned baptism in the district was held on January 29, at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Scarborough.

Before the actual baptism, the would-be members listened attentively to the words of God preached by Brother Ibañez. He reminded everyone to uphold their election come what may as they wait patiently for God’s blessings in this life and the life to come. Moreover, he exhorted them to participate in all of the Church’s activities and constantly pray to God.

“I started listening to the doctrines of the Church when my friends, who are Iglesia Ni Cristo members, invited me to attend their Bible studies,” said Zuzeth Janlauricio Huenda, one of the newly baptized from the Local Congregation of Rouge Park. “Since then, I kept on attending the Bible studies and decided to join the Church. And today, I’ve received the true baptism. I’m truly grateful to God for it. I now have the true hope of receiving salvation on Judgment Day,” she added. — With reports from Patrick Junior Bradley of INC News Section
