The Ecclesiastical District of Eastern Ontario held evangelical missions and a special gathering for members of the Buklod organization before 2023 ended.

On December 15, 2023, district-wide evangelical missions were simultaneously held in two sites: the houses of worship of the local congregations of Markham and Scarborough. Brother Paquito Ibañez Jr., district supervising minister, and Brother Marlon Guinto, assistant district supervising minister, officiated at the said venues, respectively.

The ministers taught a lesson on the importance of seeking wisdom and living in accordance with the commandments of God. They highlighted from the Bible the value of entering the true Church to make sure that God accepts their worship of Him and He, in turn, blesses them.

Meanwhile, on December 17, 2023, married members across the district convened at the house of worship of Scarborough Congregation for a special gathering in commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the Buklod organization. Brother Ibañez officiated at the holy gathering.

Citing verses from the Bible, he reminded the couples of their responsibilities as both spouses and parents. He also emphasized the importance of having respect and support for one another, and that both husband and wife have the divine obligation to raise God-fearing children.

“Activities like these are held to provide comfort, guidance and inspiration to the Buklod members, as we continue to deal with and uphold our responsibilities in leading our families. We’re all going through different situations and problems in life and knowing this, the Church Administration holds gatherings like this to help us become stronger to overcome anything,” said Brother Ramon Palacios, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. — With reports from Patty Quintos of INC News Section
