Halswell Extension holds first worship service

Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from Halswell Extension in the Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand held their first worship service in a function hall of the Te Hāpua: Halswell Centre along Halswell Road, Christchurch, New Zealand on November 22, 2023.

Succeeding worship services will be held at the same venue, which is situated 14 kilometers from the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Christchurch.

Church officers and brethren from the said congregation, and that of Christchurch East, joined those in Halswell for the sacred gathering officiated by Brother Dennis Dahunan, district supervising minister.

“The gathering served as a good opportunity to remind our respective families to continue fulfilling our Church duties for us to all the more be strengthened in the faith,” said Naomi Onibaku, choir member. “Now that we have an extension here in Halswell, I can further devote myself to performing my duty,” she added.

Brother Rafner de Castro is the extension’s current resident minister. “I will continue leading the brethren here in the various endeavors of the Church, especially now that our new place of worship is nearer their homes,” he said. — With reports from Roxanne Rosquita of INC News Section
