Right after the worship service officiated by the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, on May 21, 2023 at a hall in the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao in Bangkok, Thailand, a Care for Humanity was held to extend aid to migrant workers who attended.

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW)—Church Of Christ members and nonmembers alike—benefited from the said outreach program carried out through the collaboration of the Felix Y. Manalo (FYM) Foundation, Inc. and the Ecclesiastical District of Thailand.

Brother Glicerio P. Santos IV, General Auditor, and Brother Willen Regalado, Thailand District supervising minister, led in handing out the care packages to the beneficiaries, many of whom were guests of Church members.

“The Church has been part of the life of our many fellowmen because wherever we are, the help and support for our fellowmen is always there. This is one of the reasons we continue carrying out the Care for Humanity,” explained Brother Regalado.

One of the guests, Ma. Aurora Evangelista, said, “It’s my first time attending such event that gives importance to OFWs like me. I’m very glad because I’ve seen a lot of people who came here and just enjoy each other’s company.”

The charitable event began with a video presentation introducing the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) and its multifarious activities, including Care for Humanity, conducted around the world.

Another guest, Eric Grutas, said he learned that the “The unity of the brethren cannot only be seen through the many beautiful houses of worship but also through their faith that is continuously intensifying.” He added: “So, I’m thankful to be part of this event because I’ve witnessed God’s love to every Church member, and how they care and love one another.”

“I’m so amazed in what I saw,” remarked Joy Nimoh, another guest, referring to the generous act exemplified by the Church. She continued, “It shows you are really kind and you want to share the blessings which is very encouraging … For the people who organized this mission, I’m so grateful and happy to be part of it, I’m so honored. May you continue doing it. Thank you so much Church Of Christ.”

Philippine Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Millicent Cruz-Paredes was also present in the event. In an interview, she said that the Care for Humanity event was “a big help for many Filipinos in this country … I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Iglesia Ni Cristo because as we all know many lost their job and many businesses forced to close. So, this kind of help to our fellow Filipinos is very important. This kind of gathering not only help them physically but also spiritually.” — With reports from Montriville Boy and Cherry Riñoza of INC News Section
