As part of their commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), members of the Local Congregation of Limonan, Ecclesiastical District of Zamboanga del Sur pooled their efforts to hold a Pasugo drive on July 28, 2023.

United in purpose and concern for their fellowmen’s spiritual welfare, the brethren, led by their resident minister, Brother Mark Jason Patagnan, handed out copies of Pasugo: God’s Message magazine to their neighbors in the barangay (village) which their congregation is named after. The Pasugo contains, among others, religious articles that discuss biblical teachings the Church Of Christ upholds, such as the right way to the Lord God and to salvation.

As to why he continues to share the true faith to others, Rainier Marquez, choir member, stated, “I always remember that being ‘a branch of the Vine, and salt of the earth,’ it is my duty to bear fruits of righteousness.” In the Bible, the Lord Jesus Christ likened Himself to the vine and His disciples His branches as well as “salt” to stress that they have a part in the work of spreading His gospel for the salvation of humankind. “I do this out of love and mercy to the countless people who are not still members of this Church. And I continue to pray that my parents be among those people whom God will call into the Church,” Rainier added.

“The brethren were truly excited and joyful in taking part in preparing for and attending the said activity. Even if there were heavy rains on that day, they still came and united in sharing their faith,” Brother Patagnan, said. — With reports from Shaina Freya Nasol of INC News Section
