Not letting the selfless efforts of their parents go unnoticed, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) young members in the Ecclesiastical District of Mediterranean held a district-wide “Parents’ Appreciation” event on November 26, 2023. As the district comprises local congregations situated in nine countries in Europe, participants attended the activity through livestreaming.

Prior to the event, the children were encouraged by Church officers to prepare their personalized messages to their parents. These they then presented to their parents during the activity. Some children read poems while others sang to their respective parents.

“We aim to fortify the Christian household. Through God’s help, such objective of this event was a success. Parents happily saw their children expressed gratitude, respect, and love for them,” said Brother Axl Rose Mesina, the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer.

“It’s a very delightful experience,” said Amante Callo, a parent from the Local Congregation of Athens, Greece. “This activity has reminded us how blessed we are for having our children. We are so proud of them that at a young age, they prove to be obedient of God’s commandments, one of which is respecting and loving us their parents.”

For the youth, it was a defining involvement for it taught them to express their love and gratitude to the parents who provide and guide them.
“I truly anticipated this activity for I’m so eager to show how much I love my parents,” said Lyka Mangonon from the Local Congregation of Tel Aviv, Israel. “Reciting poems, and singing for them all the more reaffirmed my zeal of being ever active in obeying God, with our parents as our role models.” — With reports from Lauren Regino of the INC News Section
