Sixty-five prospective members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in the Ecclesiastical District Of Valladolid, Negros Occidental, Philippines, gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of La Castellana to receive baptism on November 25, 2023.

Brother Mario Quiroz, assistant district supervising minister, led the sacred occasion. Through the Bible-based lesson, he reminded the candidates for baptism that Judgment Day is already near, and people must strive to receive salvation on that day. Thus, on their part, receiving baptism in the true Church is one step, being obedient to all of God’s commandments is another, for them to all the more be sure of His eternal blessings.

After the preaching of God’s words, the candidates took their oath of membership, and were immersed into the water for the actual baptism.

“I’m so thankful because among those baptized was my mother,” said Arnel Pendilla of Bogo City Congregation who was instrumental for the conversion of his mother-in-law, Carmelita Machiko. “Despite the struggles, she was baptized. I hope my entire family will eventually join the Church Of Christ.”

“I’m very grateful to God for His unfailing love, my baptism today as one proof. I’m now a member of the true Church,” enthused Carmelita. — With reports from Carmela Alquiza of INC News Section
