As part of its commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) on July 27, 2023, the Ecclesiastical District of Manila conducted a baptism two days later at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Binondo, Manila, Philippines. During the sacred occasion, a total of 456 were baptized and became full-fledged members of the Church.

“I would like to thank our Lord God for calling me to become member of the Church. My heart is filled with gladness right now,” said Gladdies Lugtu, who is currently registered at the Local Congregation of Paco.

Before receiving the holy baptism, the candidates for baptism were first taught the words of the Lord God written in the Bible. Through the preaching of Brother Wilson R. Cayago, district supervising minister, all of them were able to understand that to all the more be worthy of receiving salvation on Judgment Day, they must possess the qualities being sought by the Lord God, one of which is obedience to His commands.

“I feel so blessed, for I do believe that I am now part of the true Church. The doctrines inside this Church are truly based in the Bible,” said Carlisle Yosores, former member of Born Again Christians. Likewise, Jocelyn Morado, a newly-baptized and currently registered at Washington Congregation, declared: “I am so thankful now that I am officially a member of the Church Of Christ, and few months from now, my husband will also be baptized. What I am feeling right now is pure happiness that I will never forget.” — With reports from Gian Carlo Tuazon of INC News Section
