“As newlyweds participating in this Buklod night, it’s really fun. It’s nice to get the warm welcome from the other Buklods; we feel their support in this new chapter of our lives,” Madeline Lubrico, from the Local Congregation of Roseville, said about the recent Buklod Night of the Ecclesiastical District of Northeast California.

“Seeing all the married couples, and how happy they are, and how successful their marriage is, really pushes us to join their ranks,” Leandro, Madeline’s husband added.

The formal event held on December 11, 2022 at The Chalet Event Center along China Garden Road in Rocklin, California was in connection with the 60th anniversary of the Buklod organization.

The participants enjoyed the evening with fun games, dinner, and performances of INC original music pieces. Moreover, long time married couples, such as David and Carolyn Shank from the Local Congregation of Sacramento, gave advices to new members of Buklod.

“Couples should take time to pray together,” Carolyn said. “Marriage is a learning process in the first few years, and you’re just getting to know each other. So be patient with each other; it’s a new thing, new adventure, and more fun!”

David added, “Always do things together, work out your problems and situations together.”

“There’s a lot of Buklod members that surround us, so we get a lot of advice and wisdom from the older Buklods, especially from the ministers who patiently teaches us God’s precepts about marriage and family,” Lanz Amoroso, from the Local Congregation of Fairfield, said.

“We thank our Lord God and our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for opportunities like this Buklod Night,” Brother Andrew Taaca, resident minister of Elk Grove Local Congregation, said. “With this activity, the love of the brotherhood among us is strengthened, as well as our marital relationship with our respective spouse.” — With reports from INC News Section
