The number of Church officers in the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City, Philippines, increased as more than 3,400 new ones took their oath during the special gathering of Church officers held on December 5, 2023 at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Capitol. It was also witnessed via livestreaming by their fellow officers gathered in the houses of worship of the local congregations of Cubao and Fairview.

Even before the officers’ prayer, attendees began to fill the main and remote sites. After the hymn-singing, Brother Jerson Sanchez, district secretary, led the congregation in a prayer. Then, Brother Virgilio Del Rosario Sr. delivered a Bible-based lesson wherein he expounded the importance of fully devoting one’s self to fulfilling his God-given duties. The district supervising minister also stressed that officers in the Church should never allow themselves to neglect their duties for it displeases God.

Afterwards, a prayer was led by Brother Arvie Ramos, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. Then, Brother Raul Ysagun Sr., district Church officers overseer, led the oath-taking of new officers. This was followed by a prayer led by Brother Edgar Bumagat, district Light Of Salvation (LOS) overseer. Brother Del Rosario said the benediction.

“What I’ve received today is a blessing beyond compare,” expressed Renato Vergara, newly-sworn deacon from the Local Congregation of Galas. “Like what we were taught, I will strive to give utmost importance to the fulfillment of my Church duty whatever the situation in my life may be. The Lord God entrusted me with this duty, and I will do my best not to fail His expectations from me.”

“We continue to encourage our brethren to accept duties in the Church to help in taking care of the welfare of our brethren so that the aim of our Executive Minister that every Church member becomes firm in their faith, and worthy of being saved on the day of Judgment that is truly near,” stated Brother Del Rosario. — With reports from Elizer Felix Hebrew of INC News Section
