Pura cluster choir shines in Paniqui, Tarlac District ‘Himig ng Kaligtasan’

The choral group from the Pura cluster of local congregations won in the Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation)-Buklod Edition of the Ecclesiastical District of Paniqui, Tarlac. The competition was held on September 18, 2022 at San Manuel Cultural Center, a gymnasium in the town of San Manuel, Tarlac, Philippines.

With their rendition of the Iglesia Ni Cristo original music Malapit na! Malapit na! (a song about the nearing salvation), the choir composed of members from the local congregations of Pura, Maungib, Estipona, Luna, Bularit, Rizal Gerona, and Parsolingan, outsang nine other choral groups.

The choral groups from the Mayantoc, Moncada, and Gerona clusters landed 1st runner up, 2nd runner up, and 3rd runner up, respectively. Mayantoc Area bagged the Best in Choir Costume Award and Moncada Area got the People’s Choice Award.

The Himig ng KaligtasanBuklod Edition is part of the said Christian family organization’s line up of activities leading to its 60th anniversary this December. — With reports from INC News Section
