Sign Language seminar in Cebu City promotes Deaf awareness

Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers in the Ecclesiastical District of Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines, gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Minglanilla to attend a Deaf awareness seminar on December 17, 2023, led by Brother Christian Jay Gil, ministerial worker and the district CSD adviser.
The district Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) officers organized the said seminar on the basics of Sign Language, such as how to sign the alphabet, numbers, and common greetings.
“We hope to encourage the brethren to be of assistance to the Church Administration in caring for our Deaf brethren for them to remain zealous in our worship and services to the Lord God,” explained Brother Gil.
“Seminars like this are crucial,” said Claire Sullano, a choir member, and secretary, “for us to learn basic Sign Language and be able to communicate with our Deaf brethren.
