As part of their preparations for the upcoming districtwide Unity Games in the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Ontario, Iglesia Ni Cristo members from the Local Congregation of Mississauga East eagerly participated in their own edition of the said sports competition on two consecutive Saturdays, April 1 and 8, 2023.
Mississauga East Congregation’s Unity Games was held at the Kings Court, Oakville, Ontario, Canada, where the brethren enjoyed friendly matches on basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, bowling, and chess. The brethren said that they were also grateful for having participated because these physical and mental games served as a means of recreation, exercise, and family bonding among them.
“Having acquainted with a lot of brethren, even befriending most of them, was fulfilling. They’re all energetic. We also shared moments through some music and food. This has been an experience worth remembering,” shared Justin Dayao, one of the participants.
“The activity was definitely a welcome respite from the monotony of lockdowns and quarantines. And, like our brethren throughout the district are, we’re equally very excited to be involved in the upcoming district Unity Games,” enthused Raymond Cunanan, head deacon. — With reports from Elisha Blair Manaloto of INC News Abroad
