Covid-19 restrictions were lifted in most countries after the head of the UN World Health Organization (WHO) “declared ‘with great hope’ an end to COVID-19 as a public health emergency,” on May 5, 2023 (news.un.org).
Such news brought joy to Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members worldwide. With restrictions gone, the various activities for edification which, during the height of the pandemic were only held virtually, can now be carried out in-person. When the restrictions were lifted, the Executive Minister personally led congregations in worship services, and the International Conference of Ministers and Ministerial Workers in-person, thus, fortifying the brethren and his co-workers in the ministry. With all these efforts of the Executive Minister out of his deep love and concern for the welfare of the Church, he has indeed strengthened the faith of God’s people.
In ecclesiastical districts and local congregations worldwide, ministers, ministerial workers, and Church officers also worked hand-in-hand to help the beloved leader further edify the brethren. The following are some of the works of edification held:
Commemoration of milestone anniversaries
As ecclesiastical districts and local congregations mark their respective anniversaries, they never forget to thank and glorify the Almighty God Who never ceases to protect and provide bountiful blessings to His servants in these last days by holding worship services for such special occasions.
Fortifying Church officers, addition of new ones
To better care for and guide Church officers, the Church Administration appointed Brother Romer D. Galang, as the Church Officers Overseer, on March 28, 2023. Soon after, in July, a minister who would serve as Church Officers Overseer was appointed for every district. Through their efforts, more brethren were encouraged to accept duties in the Church, and the current Church officers continue to be inspired in performing their God-given duties.
Inaugural worship services
As membership in the Church continues to increase due to the untiring efforts of the brethren in propagational works, more local congregations, extensions, and group worship services (GWS) also rise.
Inspiring the youth, elderly
Out of love for God’s people in these last days, the Church Administration never falters in instilling God’s commands to all brethren, be it the youth or the elderly, for their benefit in this life and for the sake of their salvation.
A sacred vow to care for the Church
With all of the edification activities held this year, Church Of Christ officers are truly inspired to be united with the Church Administration in fortifying their fellow brethren, especially during these trying times. It is their solemn promise that whatever happens, they will continue to perform their Church duties, and to encourage more to become officers as well to be of help to the Church. By doing so, they prove their unwavering loyalty to the Administration placed by God, and immense love for God, for the Lord Jesus Christ, and the entirety of the Church. — With reports from INC News Section
