“We are overjoyed in winning this competition together with our fellow Buklod members in various local congregations in our district. This activity inspired us to continue serving our Lord God,” Engelrey Abalos, choir leader of Taiwan Ecclesiastical District, said regarding their win in the regional finals of the Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation)-Buklod Edition.
Held on October 8, 2022, the activity was facilitated through videoconferencing from Blossom Lodge, a banquet hall in Hukuo, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. Recorded performances of participating choral groups from the districts of Macau, Taiwan, Taiwan South, Hong Kong, South Korea, Nagoya, and Tokyo were first aired. Afterwards, the decision of the panel of judges was announced.
Taiwan District’s rendition of Ikaw na Aking Hinawakan Mula sa mga Wakas ng Lupa (a song about the Messenger of God in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo) scored the highest.
“We offer all the glory to our Lord God because Church activities, such as this [Himig ng Kaligtasan], bring strength to our faith. We promise to God that we will continue being active and faithful in serving Him. We thank God and the Church Administration for this activity,” Brother Mayonel Taal, district supervising minister of Taiwan, enthused. — With reports from INC News Section
