Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregations of Wellington, Waikanae, and Hutt Valley, all in Wellington area of the Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand, joined hands in cleaning the Pētone Foreshore, a tourist attraction located in Esplanade Petone Lower Hutt, New Zealand, on August 20, 2023.

The said activity was one among their other ways of celebrating the district’s sixth anniversary. Using disposable gloves and trash bags, the brethren picked up and collected plastics, bottles, papers, and other rubbish.

Many young brethren participated. “It’s heartwarming to see the youth participate in this activity. They are very eager to unite with the Church Administration,” observed Yna Manlangit, KADIWA president from Hutt Valley Congregation. “Keeping our coastal areas clean helps maintain the panoramic view,” she added.

More importantly, “we held this activity aiming for a cleaner environment for the benefit not just of the people around this area but of all in the region as well,” said Brother Kevin Villanueva, resident minister in Wellington. — With reports from Roxanne Rosquita of INC News Section
