Two episodes of “Welcome, My Brethren” each conducted a day after the other in July by two aggregation of neighboring congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East brought joy and inspiration to their members and those in the process of joining the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

Newly baptized and prospective members from 13 local congregations had the joyful experience of belongingness among brothers and sisters in the faith through the socialization and edification activity held on a Sunday afternoon, July 30, 2023 at the Parang Covered Court, Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines.

In the booths set up by each local congregations, the attendees enjoyed one another’s company, playing fun games such as Level Up by the Calumpang Congregation, Giant Jenga by Cupang, Shake it Out by Marikina Centro, Stop & Throw by Parang, and many others.

“The brethren are happy with the activity held here in the Marikina Area,” said Brother Troice Cardenas, district multimedia adviser. He added, “Brethren and newly baptized members, doctrinal instructees, and would-be members have come together to encourage each other’s faith.”

On the following day, Monday, July 31, brethren from 21 local congregations in the Pasig Area gathered at the Ynares Sports Arena in Shaw Blvd, Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines to conduct their version of the Welcome, My Brethren.

Brother Gerino Lalata, the district supervising minister, opened the program with a brief inspirational speech. In part he said, “The Church Administration is very pleased with the tireless enthusiasm of the brethren in the district not only in the work of edification but also in the work of propagating the gospel.”

Just like the first day of the activity, each local congregation in this area also raised booths where the brethren had fun playing as Ring Bottle of Pulo, Pop the Balloon of Pasig, Hockey Game of Ugong, Marble Game of Mandaluyong, and many others.

Performances from selected Church officers showed their talent in singing and dancing to the songs of INC Original Music. There was also a Karaoke Challenge for doctrinal instructees and would-be members. At the end of the program, everyone received care packages. — With reports from Kate Ernacio of INC News Section
