The Ecclesiastical District of Valladolid, Negros Occidental, in the Philippines, held a baptism on December 29, 2023 at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of La Castellana, the last for 2023.

Brother Dennis Almasco, district supervising minister, officiated the holy gathering. In his Bible-based lesson, he expounded that true servants of God remain firm in their faith whatever trial they may face in this life. He added that those who remain steadfast never forsake their worship services.

Among those whose efforts led to the baptism of more people was Jimly Jurada, head deacon from the Local Congregation of Pulang Duta. He was instrumental in the conversion of Ernesto Dioso, a former member of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (commonly known as Aglipayan Church). Jurada promised to remain diligent in inviting more people to listen to the biblical teachings upheld in the Church, and in encouraging people to obey God’s commandment concerning salvation, that is, by joining the true Church Of Christ.

“I am happy and thankful for I am now a member of the Church Of Christ. I now have the great hope of being saved on Judgment Day,” said Dioso. “I understand that when one joins the Church, he must do it with his whole heart, mind, and being. This can be proven by constantly following God’s commands like devotedly attending worship services.”

Brother Joel Villanueva, district Light of Salvation overseer attributed the success of the Church’s propagation works in the district to the Lord God Who “continues to add people whom He would call as His own, and would never forsake their primary duty to worship Him.” — With reports from Carmela Alquiza of INC News Section
