To mark the 109th anniversary of the establishment of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in the Philippines, the Ecclesiastical District of Valladolid, Negros Occidental conducted, among others, baptism of new members on July 21, 2023.

Brother Mario Quiroz, the assistant district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal service held at the house of worship of the La Castellana Local Congregation.

In his Bible-inspired homily, Brother Quiroz echoed the Church Administration’s call to total obedience to the Lord God to be able to remain a member of the true Church. This is because, he explained, membership in the Church Of Christ is a blessing like no other in this world—it is the means to be saved by Christ on Judgment Day.

Eugene Porras, from the Caridad Local Congregation, who together with wife Lorena, was among the newly baptized. He said, “We both realized that indeed, this is a calling from God for our salvation. We are so thankful to Him. As reminded before we received baptism, it is all the more required of us to be obedient to God’s commands.”

“As a call center agent, it is a must to be punctual in my tasks. It is my livelihood after all,” said Kenneth Decendario, a new member from the La Carlota City Local Congregation. “Now that I am a member of the true religion, I will ever more prioritize my services to the Lord, more than anything.”— With reports from Carmela Alquiza of the INC News Section
