“The young members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo should never be influenced by the evil of this world.” This was the central message of the homily of Brother Joel B. Catalan, supervising minister of the Ecclesiastical District of Central Europe, during the special gathering of the members of the KADIWA and Binhi organizations, on October 30, 2023.

KADIWA is the organization of unmarried members who are 18 years old and above, while Binhi is that of the young members, 12 to 17 years of age. Brethren composing these youth organizations of the Church are commemorating their golden anniversary, since these were established in October 1963.

The special gathering was hosted by the Local Congregation of Rotterdam, Netherlands and livestreamed to the other local congregations and group worship services within the district.

During the Bible-based lecture, Brother Catalan reminded the attendees that they are Church Of Christ members wherever they may be, that is, they should not do anything that violates the commandments of God, such as when interacting with their peers. Moreover, the KADIWA and Binhi members should not be swayed by the ideals of this world that may seem good but, in truth, are against biblical doctrines.

“We know that today, information is much more available because of the advancement of technology,” said Brother Scott Agustin, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. “Though this is helpful in many aspects of our lives, there are also dangers that come with it. For example, there are information that can be read on the internet and are being promoted by many, yet are against the will of God,” he explained.

A Binhi member, RJ Gonzales, shared what he learned from the special gathering. He said, “I learned that we should not befriend evildoers because they will draw us away from our Church Of Christ membership.” — With reports from Eva-Marie Krause of INC News Section
