The Ecclesiastical District of Zambales North on November 12, 2022 hosted a blood donation drive that gave the brethren an opportunity to express their spirit of concern towards their fellowmen.

The socio-civic activity was conducted in collaboration with the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH), the recipient of the blood donation.

Members of the Christian Medical Dental Paramedical Society (CMDPS) in the district assisted the volunteers from JLGMH.

“As soon as we learned that we will be having a blood donation drive, we coordinated with the representatives from the hospital,” Venusa Eclevia, a registered nurse and CMDPS president, said. “We also prepared the venue to accommodate the number of volunteer-brethren.” She was referring to the residence of Ellender Eclevia, the district Buklod president, situated in Barangay Bamban, Masinloc, Zambales, Philippines.

“Thanks be to God for hundreds of brethren from various congregations united with the Church Administration in participating in the blood donation drive,” remarked Brother Renato Durian, assistant district supervising minister. “They were motivated to join the activity because of their desire to extend help to their fellowmen which is a commandment of God.”

Among those who showed up for the blood donation was Jason Moralejo, a district multimedia officer. He said, “I didn’t hesitate to join because the small act of donating would greatly help those who are in need.”

On behalf of JLGMH, Michelle Corpuz, blood bank supervisor, expressed, “We’d like to thank the Iglesia Ni Cristo and all the brethren for their generosity. It was a great partnership and experience working with them. The many bags of blood that were collected would be a huge help to our patients.” — With reports from INC News Section
