As part of their commemoration of the 105th anniversary of the Children’s Worship Service, CWS officers from the different congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Australia West held special gatherings on June 16, 2023.

The CWS officers assembled at the houses of worship of the local congregations of Melbourne, Victoria and Perth for them to all together offer praises and thanks to God for His abiding help and guidance to them as well as to receive further edification through His words.

Brother Romeo Beltran, district supervising minister, officiated at the gathering held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Melbourne while Brother Felix Santos, assistant district supervising minister, in the Perth Local Congregation house of worship.

The supervising ministers preached a Bible-based lesson to the congregants about dedication to fulfilling their Church duties. They emphasized the importance of CWS officers’ role in assisting the children under their care in their spiritual growth for them to grow up as true Christians, steadfast in their divine election.

The inspiring and grace-filled homilies were followed by the oath-taking of the newly appointed CWS officers in their respective local congregations.

“The special gathering aimed to strengthen the officers who serve as helpers of the Church Administration in taking care of the [children],” Brother RJ Jaraza, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, said. “Hearing the oath-taking of the new officers reminded us of our promise to God and of how we should fulfill our obligations to Him.”

“Throughout my years in the CWS, lessons that always resonated with me were ones of putting faith in the Lord and what He can do for us,” said Sofhia Calma, CWS chairperson of the Coogee Local Congregation. “I hope to [be able to help] instill this faith in the children entrusted to [my care] so that no matter what they encounter as they journey in this world, they will entrust to the Father their worries, hopes, and aspirations in life.”

“Through the preaching of God’s words, I learned that when you put Him first, He will bless you a hundred times more,” Anelle Tobias, CWS vice chairperson from the same congregation, expressed. “That’s why I put the worship service and the performance of my duties first over my studies and work.” — With reports from Jennelin Guanzon of INC News Section
