Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) from the Local Congregations of Malibay and Pasay, both under the jurisdiction of the Ecclesiastical District of Makati, Philippines, held simultaneous INC Giving activities on April 13, 2024.

Malibay

Motivated by their love and concern for the community, the district and congregation Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers, as well as that of the Buklod, united to hold an INC Giving activity which they called “Kutis Kilatis” at the Clubhouse of South Green Villas in Merville, Shenandoah, Parañaque. Brother Joel Montellano, resident minister, led the said event.

Free skin consultations were conducted, and complimentary medicines were also distributed to those suffering from skin ailments. Dr. Ellaine Galvez, a dermatologist and the district CMDPS president, served as the resource speaker.

Mercy Ranoco, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her heartfelt appreciation, saying, “I extend my sincerest gratitude to the Church Administration for organizing such an activity. I’ve been educated on how to not only take care of the body, particularly the skin, but also prevent being infected with diseases.”

Pasay

Brethren in Pasay Congregation enthusiastically engaged in their INC Giving activity dubbed “Neighborhood Appreciation Day” that was held at the Central Gymnasium of Baclaran Elementary School Central in Baclaran, Manila.

Led by Brother Diosdado Dades, district supervising minister, along with fellow ministers constituting the district leadership, the brethren distributed various essentials and services to the community. These included free meals, clothing, medical services, arts and crafts for children, medicines, community pantries, grooming services, and even livelihood seminars.

The said activity was part “of our congregation’s 104th anniversary celebration,” said Brother Jhie Bryant Datuin, resident minister. “I express my profound gratitude to our Lord God for the countless blessings He has bestowed upon our congregation. Through His help and guidance, our congregation has achieved successes in all of the Church’s endeavors,” he added.

“I thank the Church for organizing events like this,” said Lanie Empenio, a guest and one of the beneficiaries. “The Church members’ efforts really paid off. My family and I were not only provided with basic needs, we’re also given guidance on livelihood initiatives, which were truly beneficial for us.”

These are but some of the INC Giving activities held in Makati District. More activities of the like are expected to be conducted in upcoming days. These are the brethren’s adherence to God’s instruction as written in Proverbs 3:27: “Whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it” (Good News Bible).

Expressing his appreciation to the brethren’s solidarity from the two local congregations, Brother Dades commended them for “actively participating in all of the Church’s activities. May the undertakings carried out today further strengthen their faith and above all give glory and honor to our Lord God.” — With reports from Cris Lagman and Mav Liongson of INC News Section
