The Ecclesiastical District of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental inducted 1,066 additional Church officers during a special gathering in commemoration of the district’s 73rd anniversary.

Brother Rene J. Panoncillo, the Church’s General Secretary, officiated at the holy occasion held on August 26, 2022.

The district-wide event took place at the 8,000-seater Victorias Sports and Amusement Center along Osmeña Highway, Brgy. XIII, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, as brethren from the 43 local congregations, 12 extensions, and 16 Group Worship Service (GWS) in the district, were in attendance.

In his Bible-based homily, Brother Panoncillo reminded the brethren about the qualities God seeks from Church officers. Afterwards, Brother Antonio Doydoy, the district overseer in edification, administered the oathtaking of the new officers. Among those who took oath were new deacons, deaconesses, choir members, and officers in the Christian Family Organizations (CFO).

“Being a Church officer has brought me closer to God. There were and there will still be difficulties, but God is merciful. When we entrust to Him our worries by means of prayer, He will help us make it through; He did to me,” Elyssa Reese Pontino, a choir member and the Binhi vice president of the Local Congregation of Bacolod City, attested.

“We are joyful that the aim of the Church Administration for more brethren to come forward and accept duties in the Church to be of help in taking care of the brethren is being realized here in our district. This oathtaking is a testament to that. Praise be to God!” said Brother Doydoy. — With reports from INC News Section
