After receiving, believing in, and putting to practice the biblical doctrines, candidates for baptism from the Ecclesiastical District of Iloilo South, in the Philippines, became full-fledged members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), on November 7, 2023 as they received baptism at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Iloilo City.

Brother Elias Molejon Jr., assistant supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal service. “This is the result of the combined efforts of the ministers, ministerial workers, and brethren in taking care of the faith of these new members. Above all, it is through the unequaled help that comes from the Almighty God. To Him we give back all the glory,” he said in an interview after the occasion.

Brother Molejon, before the actual baptism, preached to the would-be members a Bible-based lesson, underscoring the importance of having genuine faith in order to receive baptism inside the true Church. He exhorted them to secure their salvation on Judgment Day by becoming firm in the faith and ever active in the many endeavors of the Church.

“Before I was called in the Church, I didn’t have a direction of what is really right and wrong in life,” shared Kretz Mendoza, among the newly-baptized. “My faith was in shambles then but now that I’ve become a member of the Church, I can see and feel the great difference that took place in my life. I will forever serve God Who called me,” she added.

One of the precepts that was also pointed out was the importance of every member of the Christian household to help in the works of propagation. In light of this, Maricel Serrano of the Local Congregation of Pavia, said, “I could not explain my joy having seen my whole household become members of the Church Of Christ. It will always be my consolation in life to obey God’s commands.” — With reports from Jasmine Rellesiva of INC News Section
