Caloocan North came to exist as an ecclesiastical district at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically on March 20, 2020. It comprises the local congregations in the northern part of Caloocan City, in the Philippines’ National Capital Region.

“Even during the peak of the pandemic, the brethren remained active in performing their divine duties,” attested Brother Ariel B. Barzaga, district supervising minister. “Despite the hardships, they were and are still able to continue upholding their membership, all of which are only possible with the unending mercy of the Almighty Father.”

To mark its third anniversary, the leadership of the Ecclesiastical District of Caloocan North under Brother Barzaga’s supervision spearheaded a series of activities related to propagation and edification works, intended ultimately for the praise and honor of God’s Name.

First in the series was the baptism of 265 new members held on March 25, 2023 at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bagong Silang 9. It was officiated by Brother Ricardo De Omaña, assistant district supervising minister.

Right after their holy baptism, the newly baptized members accompanied by Church officers and other brethren proceeded to the Caloocan Sports Complex to join their fellow brethren in the Christian Family Organizations (CFO)-led events. These were the CFO Friendship Day, This is KADIWA, and Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) Get-Together. Booths for the food-and-trade fair filled the open grounds of the complex.

Capping the day’s events was the Band Together which featured bands from various local congregations performing Iglesia Ni Cristo original pop music.

“It was really enjoyable to perform before the brethren. Their smiles and cheers gave us that extra energy to sing from our hearts the lyrics that promote Christian values,” shared Dan Leo Ugdiman, KADIWA officer and band member from the Camarin Local Congregation.

The highlight of the celebration was the Church officers’ special gathering that transpired the next day. The livestreamed service was held in several designated houses of worship foremost of which was that of the Local Congregation of Bagong Silang V as the main site.

Brother Rolando Esguerra, the minister in charge of the Office of Edification under the Church’s General Secretariat, officiated. From the Bible, he reminded the Church officers that their selfless efforts in caring for the brethren were never in vain and that for their obedience they could expect the Lord God to be with them amid tests of faith. — With reports from INC News Section
