In doing their part to help in flood prevention, members and officers of the Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) from the Ecclesiastical District of Caloocan North held a clean-up drive on June 17, 2023.

The participants gathered at Saranay Road in Barangay 171, Caloocan City, Metro Manila, Philippines, one of the flood prone areas in their district.

They removed wild grasses from the center island of the road. Using their cleaning tools, they swept the stretch of the road of debris and litter that they collected for proper discarding.

“This activity aimed to help our government especially with regards to taking care of our environment,” Patricio Salinas Jr., SCAN district president, explained.

“It’s important to help in our community and be engaged in socio-civic works,” said Josephine Velarde, SCAN member from the Local Congregation of F. Manalo. “The Church Administration always reminds us to assist in these works for God’s glory.” — With reports from Ainah Oribello of INC News Section
