The Church officers from the three congregations in the Island of Maui, Hawaii assembled on June 16, 2023 for a special gathering for their further spiritual edification. Maui is the second largest island in the archipelago.

Local congregation officers from Kihei and Lahaina joined their counterparts from Wailuku on the holy occasion in the latter’s house of worship in praising and thanking God for the duty He gifted them which they were able to perform because of His help. Moreover, they received further instruction in His teachings and rules to guide them in the proper discharge of their functions as they assist the Church Administration in caring for the Church.

The Hawaii Pacific District supervising minister, Brother Gem Baitan, officiated at the holy gathering. Citing verses from the Holy Scriptures in his homily, he enjoined the Church officers to lead the brethren by example in zealously participating in the intensive works of the Church. He also reminded them to always believe in, trust in, and rely on what God can do for them, amid life’s adversities, as they journey toward receiving the promised salvation.

“It’s a great blessing for me especially in the performance of my duties,” said Danilo Saldua of the Wailuku Congregation about the special gathering. He added that as a deacon, he firmly believes that the spiritual blessings he received inspire him “to all the more oversee and take care of the welfare of the brethren under my care.”

Jane Bulosan, a choir member also from Wailuku, concurred, “This activity has not only inspired me by strengthening my faith even more, but it has also reminded me to perform my duties with love and joy in my heart.” — With reports from Dexter Saldua of INC News Section
