Seeking to be even more efficient in leading their fellow brethren in active services to God, Church officers from the Local Congregation of Sai Kung, New Territories, which is under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Hong Kong, attended a Leadership Enhancement Seminar on August 7, 2022. A fellow Church officer, Maryann Uri, served as the resource speaker.

The congregation’s place of worship served as the host site, where a limited number of brethren attended in-person; others joined the seminar from their respective homes through videoconferencing.

Through a presentation, with the help of materials provided by the local congregation’s leadership, Maryann pointed out to the attendees the qualities that leaders should endeavor to possess and nurture in order to be effective helpers of the Church Administration. Among those that she highlighted were having the maturity to set oneself as a good example for others, expressing respect for others, and fostering trust.

After her discussion of the best practices of efficient leaders, Brother Bobby Medrano, the resident minister, read pertinent biblical verses to the attendees reminding them that no less than God expects Church officers to dutifully care for the brethren’s spiritual welfare.

“We are thankful to God because through this activity, the officers in our local congregation gained additional knowledge and were further inspired to remain active in performing their Church duties thereby becoming effective and efficient helpers of the Church Administration in taking care and edifying the faith of the brethren,” Brother Medrano said. — With reports from INC News Section
