“Today, SCAN members here in Davao City gained more knowledge in properly using the Civic Radio Frequencies. This knowledge is essential as we use this mode of communication in activities, including those that we conduct during time of calamities and emergencies,” said Lucky Ylagan, the District Vice President of SCAN in Davao City.

Keeping members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) well-informed of the updated rules and regulations governing the use of Civic Radio, the district leadership of the organization in the Ecclesiastical District of Davao City held a refresher seminar on January 9, 2022. SCAN members from various local congregations attended the said activity.

The seminar was held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Mintal, Davao City and was led by Brother Ireneo Ledesma, Regional President/Club Trustee of DX9EVM SCAN International Amateur Radio Club. He reiterated to the attendees the basic rules and regulations of operating a Civic Radio, as well as recent revisions that they should be knowledgeable about.

“I am thankful for having learned new knowledge about radio rules and regulations. This will increase my ability while performing my Church duties in communications,” Virginia Ledesma, the SCAN assistant secretary from the Local Congregation of Ma-a, said.

“Refresher courses such as this are beneficial because SCAN members, like me, remain well-equipped with the knowledge and skills so that we can be effective in performing our duties,” said Jerrsy Samonte, SCAN congregation president of Tibungco.

Brother Rhoedman Lloyd Ybañez, the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, supervised the activity. ― With reports from INC News Section
