On February 5, 2023, the newest local congregation in the Ecclesiastical District of Edmonton, Canada was established in the Hamptons, a modern residential neighborhood in West Edmonton, through a special worship service officiated at by the district supervising minister, Brother Rolando Gaviola.

To accommodate not only the pioneering members but also their fellow brethren from neighboring local congregations, the inaugural worship service was held at the Central Lions Centre along 11113 113 Street. Succeeding worship services will be held at the congregation’s place of worship situated along 7003 199 Street NW.

During his Bible-based lecture, Brother Gaviola exhorted the brethren to cherish the words of God in their lives by upholding a righteous way of life to be worthy of His blessings, the greatest of which is eternal life when Judgment Day comes. Afterwards, he led the oath-taking of newly appointed Church officers.

Elated with the historic occasion, Samuel Antinew, head deacon, explained, “We’ve been waiting for this day to happen when we would have our own place of worship wherein we could conduct not only personal devotional prayers but also our congregational worship services. Praises be to God; He has given us a place of worship closer to where I [and other brethren] live.”

Almost 25 kilometers southwest from the district office along 11905 82 Street NW in Edmonton, which is Alberta’s capital city, the Hamptons Congregation is currently under the supervision of Brother Romel Cruz, resident ministerial worker. — With reports from INC News Section and Brian Justin Tacneng
