As part of the concerted efforts of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s (Church Of Christ) districts in the Visayas to reach out to island communities, brethren from the Ecclesiastical District of Negros Del Norte conducted an Aid to Humanity event in the island of Matabas, off the coast of Sagay City, Negros Occidental, on July 29, 2022.

The district leadership, together with brethren-volunteers, traveled half-an-hour by motor boat from Vito Port, in Sagay City, to the Matabas and there handed over care packages contains several food items to the residents. A medical mission, wherein free medicines and basic medical services were provided, was also held.

“We are grateful for what we received. There are vitamins, food and rice, and canned goods. Thank you very much for what you gave us. This is a great help to us,” Ginna Sanchez, a resident of Matabas, said.

Brother Frederico Tolentino, a minister of the gospel assigned in the District of Negros Del Norte, said, “We are thankful to Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, our beloved Executive Minister, for inspiring us not to get tired in helping our fellowmen.”

As of this writing, the Church Of Christ has conducted outreach-evangelical missions in a total of 103 island communities in Negros, Antique, Bohol, Leyte, Palawan, Samar, Surigao, and Romblon. — With reports from INC News Section
