An evangelical mission held on November 13, 2023 highlighted the 70th anniversary of the Local Congregation of Cagayan De Oro City, in Misamis Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines. Brother Alfredo Castro Jr., the district’s Light of Salvation  overseer, officiated at the occasion.

Brother Castro preached a Scripture-based lesson pointing out to the guests that salvation on Judgment Day is needed by all people. Safety on that fateful day can and should be made sure by being active members of the true Church Of Christ.

“The lesson was so timely and fitting for policemen like me who ensure safety of citizens,” said Police Brigadier General Ricardo Layug Jr., Regional Police Director of Police Regional Office 10 and an active Church member. “I did my best in inviting my fellow policemen to attend this evangelical mission. I want them to know about how to be saved on Judgment Day.”

Layug was instrumental in inviting Colonel Salvador Radam, who said that it’s “an honor to attend in the gatherings of the Church” and that it is “a very good opportunity to know about the words of God.”

Aside from the police force, Church members in Cagayan De Oro City invited other professionals.

Established in 1953, the Local Congregation of Cagayan de Oro City came into existence during the administration of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, whom the Church members firmly believe as God’s Messenger in these last days.

On behalf of the congregation, Brother Freddie Gravidez, one of the ministers currently assigned there, said, “We thank the Lord God for all the years that has passed, he never abandoned us and so we promise to march on with resolute promise to always serve Him.” — With reports from Jeanny Dizon of INC News Section.
