Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation) in three categories served as the highlight of the 55th anniversary celebration of the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Samar.

The choral competition held on May 28, 2023 at the Catarman Municipal Covered Court in Catarman City, Northern Samar, Philippines was organized by the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) district officers.

Brother Erde Escoña, district supervising minister, and the members of the district leadership were present during the competition to give moral support to the participants.

Twelve choral groups representing four clusters in the district comprising neighboring local congregations in the areas of Catarman, Mondragon, Allen, and Rawis competed in the Buklod, KADBin (KADIWA and Binhi), and Pagsamba ng Kabataan (PNK) categories. They rendered Iglesia Ni Cristo original music.

The choristers joined not only to showcase their talents but most significantly to show their solidarity with the Church and its Administration. One of them, Igmedio Marmol Jr., chorister in the Mondragon Cluster, head deacon of the Bugko Local Congregation, said, “I and my wife, Charina, joined the choral group because it is our way of uniting with the Church Administration as the district celebrates its 55th anniversary.”

Contessa Pauline Majerano, a KADIWA and choir member from the Mondragon Congregation, expressed her joy to be part of the Mondragon Cluster KADBin choral group. “I thank Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, for approving the conduct of such activity. I promise to be always active in my duty and all the activities he launches in the Church.”

The Catarman Cluster landed first place in both KADBin and PNK categories, while the Mondragon Cluster in the Buklod category.

“It’s good to see that the brethren enjoyed how the district celebrated its milestone anniversary,” enthused Brother Salvador Esteban, district CFO overseer, “Every member of the family got to bond with their fellow brethren from other congregations. Praise be to God for allowing us to commemorate the district’s 55th anniversary.” — With reports from Michael Agustin and Sharwin Acedera of INC News Section
