Members of the Christian Brotherhood International (CBI), the organization of Iglesia Ni Cristo students, from the local congregations of Elizabeth and Bayonne respectively held “Teachers Appreciation Day” within the compound of their houses of worship. Brother Alex Reyes, supervising minister of New Jersey Ecclesiastical District, led them.

On May 28, 2023, the CBI members from Elizabeth made personal gifts and appreciation cards for their teachers. There were also intermission numbers, after which they enjoyed a light meal together. These, together with the spelling match afterwards, further bonded them as well.

Meanwhile, the brethren-students from Bayonne held theirs six days later, on June 3. They first had lunch together with their teachers. Then they watched a slide show presentation about the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ). They also participated in fun games. Afterwards, the students’ dedication and reading of appreciation letters brought smiles and gratitude from their teachers. The activity capped with the giving of certificates of recognition to the teachers.

“It’s an opportunity to express gratitude to our educators,” Angelica Amores, one of the organizers, said. Rihanna Herrero, CBI member, expressed, “Treating my teachers to a special day has given both me and them overwhelming happiness.”

The local congregations of Bayonne and Elizabeth are among the ten congregations, two extensions, and three group worship services (GWS) that are supervised by the Ecclesiastical District of New Jersey. — With reports from Raymond Villegas of INC News Section
