INConcert highlighted the fourth anniversary celebration of the Ecclesiastical District of Oregon which was established on January 16, 2019.

Held on January 15, 2023 at the Mt. Hood Community College Theater in Gresham, Oregon, the concert featured song and dance performances by select brethren from local congregations of Beaverton, Hillsboro, Oregon City, Portland, Vancouver and Roseburg Group Worship Service (GWS) in the state of Oregon; Fruitland, Idaho GWS in Idaho.

Brother Gem Baitan, the assistant district supervising minister, opened the program with a brief remark welcoming the brethren and their guests.

“Music has been an integral part of the lives of God’s people then and now,” he said, pointing out that “through masterful blending of words and musical notes, compositions inspired by faith in God’s goodness and promises have shone like stars in a moonless night, providing direction and inspiration.”

“I was nervous,” shared Clarissa Catabay, soloist performer from the Local Congregation of Portland who sang Guide My Heart. But because “the brethren were supportive, my eagerness to perform prevailed.” Other INC original songs featured in the musical program included Proud to be INC, Now is the Time to Shine, May I Always Be True, and Strongest of All.

Jacob Samol, a guest from Hillsboro, said, “Absolutely amazing! I enjoyed how everybody felt comfortable showing the talents that God gave them. I am filled with joy that I got to experience this.”

After the song and dance performances, a video montage of activities launched by the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) in the district in 2022 was shown towards the end of the activity. — With reports from INC News Section
