Members of theKADIWA organization and officers of the Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) from the Ecclesiastical District of Malaysia learned the importance of emergency preparedness through a webinar held on January 30, 2022.

Victor Sanchez, a SCAN officer who is also a certified first aider and instructor for the Philippine and American Red Cross, served as the resource speaker. He shared with the attendees not only the importance of maintaining level-headedness during emergencies but as well as life-saving tips.

He also demonstrated the proper way of executing cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR, encouraging the brethren to master the skill in order to save lives. Afterwards, he answered emergency-related questions from the brethren.

“Besides safety tips to avoid accidents,” Sanchez said that he also shared with attendees “information about the nature and behavior of fire, among other emergencies.”

Attendees, like Norlyn Dela Cruz, were reminded that “proper response to an emergency is critical because the actions a rescuer takes in the initial minutes may greatly affect the lives of many people.” She said that the seminar served as “a refresher, making us ready in times of emergencies.” — With reports from INC News Section
