In this year’s Himig ng Kaligtasan (Songs of Salvation) competition of the Ecclesiastical District of Macau, held virtually on July 10, 2022, the choral group from the Local Congregation of Macau emerged as champion, besting three other choral groups.

All choral groups pre-recorded their presentation featuring an Iglesia Ni Cristo original music piece. On the day of the competition, brethren from various local congregations in the district watched through videoconferencing the performances of each of the choir. Among those who watched the presentations were the members of the panel of judges, including Brother Celestino Bacsafra, district supervising minister, and Brother Shandrick Earl Ang, the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. The choir from Macau wowed the audience with their awe-inspiring rendition of “Akayin Sa Lubusang Pagsunod.”

“I’m thankful to our Lord God for the chance to participate in this activity,” said Nerissa Lavilla, a member of the winning choral group.

“This Himig ng Kaligtasan added strength to the faith of the brethren and also to the performers. We offer all the glory to our Lord God,” Jonathan Dela Cruz, district choir director and one of the judges, said.

“The activity brought out the singing skills of the brethren and edified them in the faith,” Brother Ang said. “Through their presentations, brethren were all the more inspired to be dedicated in their services to our Lord God and united with the Church Administration,” he added. — With reports from INC News Section
