Buklod brethren within the Hsinchu area of the Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan showcased their culinary skills during the cooking challenge held at the function hall of the Zhubei Local Congregation on September 24, 2023. Buklod is an organization in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) for its married members.

“Me and my wife looked forward for this event. We’re so thankful for this event resulted to our bond being more strengthened. Not only did we discover new techniques in cooking, we’re also able to better understand the importance of teamwork,” affirmed Salvador Labriaga from the Local Congregation of Zhubei.

The base ingredient for the main dish was chicken meat. That, together with the appetizers, and desserts presented, were what the judges considered in determining the winners.

Of the seven representatives, the couple from the Local Congregation of Hukou was declared champion; that of  Baoshan Congregation as first runner-up.

“It is our delight to dedicate effort to participate. We are blissful as we didn’t expect to win. All the glory we give back to God,” affirmed John Andrew Cabral from the Local Congregation of Hukou.

The winners will be representing their respective area for the culminating event this coming December. — With reports from Edlysse Garcia of INC News Section
