The Buklod couple representing the Moncada area of the Ecclesiastical District of Paniqui, Tarlac clinched the top spot in the district’s edition of the “Mr. and Mrs. Chef” cooking competition held at Cultural Center along Manila North Road, San Manuel, Tarlac, Philippines on September 24, 2023.

Limwel and Shara Mae Opina bested the contestants from the other areas in the district with their Tuna Canape for appetizer, Tuna Cordon Bleu Fillet for main dish, and Oreo Crepe Roll for dessert.

More than just “to hone their cooking skills,” Brother Jojo Vicente, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, explained, “This activity aims to all the more strengthen the marital relationship of married couples in the Church.”

“We are joyful for representing our area,” Limwel expressed. “Winning this competition is a great blessing from our Lord God and it added in our activeness in further uniting in the activities of the Church.”

Besides Moncada, the district has seven more areas, or clusters of adjoining congregations, namely, Camiling, Gerona, Nagserialan, Paniqui, Pura, Sta. Ignacia, and Tangkaran. — With reports from Ervin Cayanan of INC News Section
