On January 4, 2024, the Ecclesiastical District of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, welcomed a new group worship service (GWS). On the said date, the inaugural worship service of the Hilado GWS was held. The new GWS, which is situated in Barangay Guimbalaon of Silas City, is under the supervision of the Local Congregation of Villa Fe.

“We are so blessed because this year has just started and God has already blessed us with a new GWS, wherein the brethren could further dedicate themselves in their services to God,” said Brother Ronaldo Canlas, district supervising minister, who officiated at the special gathering.

During his preaching, Brother Canlas reiterated to the attendees that despite difficulties in life, Church Of Christ members have a great advantage—they are the recipients of God’s promises, the greatest of which is salvation on Judgment Day.

“It is only right that we help in the many works of the Church, especially that God has been good to us and our family. By being active in our services to Him, we show that we rely on what He can do for us,” said Jeffrey Mercado, head deacon.

Brother Maynard Aba, resident minister of Villa Fe Congregation, said on behalf of the brethren under his care, “Now that we have an additional place of worship, we will all the more be devoted to helping the Church Administration in all of the endeavors being launched. We will continue sharing our faith with others. We will never neglect our worship services to God.” — With reports from Danica Udasco of INC News Section
