A new house of worship for the Local Congregation of Igang, in the Ecclesiastical District of Iloilo South, was dedicated to God through a worship service on July 8, 2023, officiated at by the district supervising minister, Brother Mario Mabuti.

When Cristina Diaz heard the news that the house of worship of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in Brgy. Igang, Pototan, Iloilo will be dedicated to God, she eagerly prepared for that day to witness the holy occasion. “I’m so happy because it’s very beautiful. I thank God because I got the chance to see the new chapel and attend its dedication,” she expressed.

Cristina was among the pioneering members of the Igang Congregation who witnessed its humble beginnings during 1950s where the chapel was still made from nipa hut and bamboo. She is now registered in the neighboring congregation of Dingle.

During the study of God’s words, Brother Mabuti underscored to the brethren how they are blessed by the Lord for granting a new house of worship where they can continue rendering their active services and worship of Him. Thus, they were admonished to take care of it and remain zealous in performing their duties.

“I can’t fully express how I feel when I saw the new chapel. I was just in awe the whole time looking at it,” enthused Gloria Gabayeran, a deaconess. “All our sacrifices and hardships got paid off because we’ve been blessed by God throughout the years.”

“We thank God for His love to us. We also thank the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for his guidance and care to the entire Church. Through the approval of the Church Administration in building us a new house of worship, we can feel his concern to us,” said Brother Jurji Zaidan Kiseo, resident ministerial worker.

The 110-seater house of worship of the Igang Congregation is situated 30 kilometers north of the district office in Rizal St., Iloilo City, Iloilo, Philippines. The new edifice is equipped with a Johannus organ, CCTV camera system, as well as LED TV videoconferencing system. — With reports from Ace Capizonda of INC News Section
