In celebration of their congregation’s third anniversary, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregation of Papakura, Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand, gathered for a night of Christian music at the Imperial Palace, Mt. Wellington, Auckland on September 5, 2022.

“It is only through God’s help and mercy that our united efforts in all Church activities bear fruits, and thus our local congregation keep reaping successes one after another,” enthused Benjie Sanchez, head deacon. “To Him, we return all the glory.”

As early as 5:00 P.M., brethren already filled the venue. Soon after, Brother Edgar Hernandez, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, gave the opening remarks. Afterwards, the audience were treated to the consecutive performances of the three choral groups composed of officers and brethren from the local congregation. The Iglesia Ni Cristo Original Music featured in the performances included Guide My Heart, Bayan Mo’y Nagpupuri (Your people are praising), and Salamat Po sa Iyong Pagyakap (Thank You for Your embrace).

A dance troupe composed of Buklod members also took the stage. Their folk dance performance received a well-deserved applause. Afterwards, spectators and performers alike, together with their families, shared a meal.

Maria Gracia Catalan, finance officer, commented, “It strengthened our camaraderie. Unity of the brethren here was indeed evident.”

The Local Congregation of Papakura is one of the 18 congregations established in New Zealand’s North Island. Brother Daniel Diaz is the current resident minister. — With reports from INC News Section
