“I was overwhelmed with the whole environment. It was very good and I enjoyed it. … It’s like family,” observed Ronald Deponte, a guest, during the evangelical mission led by the KADIWA and Binhi members, together with those from the Christian Brotherhood International (CBI), from the Ecclesiastical District of Hawaii-Pacific. It was held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Ewa Beach on October 15, 2023.

When asked about his thoughts during the study of God’s words, Ronald added, “I like it, it was concise, got to the point, and interesting.”

Another guest, Soseiki Higuchi, shared his take away from the lesson, “It was easy to hear and understand. And I wasn’t just hearing God’s words, I was feeling them as well.”

The Bible-based lesson, taught by Brother Gem Baitan, district supervising minister, focused on how to value the true wealth that leads to salvation more than the material things this world can offer.

The evangelistic activity was held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the said youth organizations in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ). The KADIWA is for single members 18 years old and above, the Binhi for baptized members 12 to 17 years old, and CBI for the brethren who are students. Thus, the young brethren took the opportunity to take part in the celebration by sharing their faith with their friends, schoolmates, colleagues, and loved ones.

“I was able to bring my friend from work,” said Samantha Bolda from the Ewa Beach Congregation. “It took a couple tries but finally, he did say yes. It feels good and very rewarding after he accepted my invitation.”

Ryla Joy Valerio, from the Kaneohe Congregation, stated, “I managed to invite my friend as he was searching for the true Church. So, I saw that as a perfect opportunity to invite him to this event. After the evangelical mission, he shared to me what stood out to him and it was the solemnity of the teachings and the entire environment of the event.”

Thankful to God for the success of the activity, Brother Gideon King Soliman, the district Light of Salvation overseer, said, “Many brethren here, not only from this local congregation, but also from various local congregations in our district, came and supported this wonderful event. It‘s a good opportunity to express our unity with the Church Administration in propagating the words of our Lord God.” — With reports from Ryan Barnachea of INC News Section
