Young members from the Ecclesiastical District of Agusan del Norte, in the Philippines, had an enjoyable moment together as they honed their skill and creativity in drawing and painting.

This was during a visual arts seminar and workshop organized and spearheaded by the KADIWA and Binhi district officers on September 24, 2023.

“This activity not only enhanced the brethren’s talents in drawing and painting but also became an opportunity for them to become closer with each other,” said Brother Jundrei Dondoyano, resident ministerial worker of the Local Congregation of Nasipit. He was designated to supervise the activity which was held in the compound of the said congregation’s house of worship.

Visual artist Renante Dublois from the Local Congregation of Ambago, who won second place of the Church’s “EVM ART 2016” contest, served as resource speaker. He taught the young brethren the basics of drawing and painting such as portraiture, value scale, transition of tones, gradation of tones, and aerial perspective.

“I am so thankful for this activity as it has given me a chance to enhance my drawing skills,” said Julian Michael Melchor from Butuan City Local Congregation.

The seminar-workshop concluded with Brother Dondoyano delivering a brief and inspiring message, urging the young brethren to put gifts or talents to good use, especially in the works of the Church and in the service of the Lord God. — With reports from Richelle Ann Gatchalian of INC News Section
