In time for the rainy—and flooding—season, the Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) in the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan North spearheaded a clean-up drive at Barangay Tigpalas in San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines on June 24, 2023.

“Flooding occurs often in this village especially now when there are frequent thunderstorms; we will also clean the drainages to prevent flooding,” Renan Clifford Herrera, SCAN district president, explained.

The SCAN members started cleaning the vicinity of the district office, which is adjacent to the house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Miguel. They swept streets and sidewalks clean of debris and litter that would otherwise clog drainages, causing flood.

Brother Michael Nera, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, supervised the activity.  He said, “Through the leadership of our district supervising minister, Brother Rainier Sabino, and on behalf of all SCAN officers and members in our district, we wholeheartedly thank the Church Administration, primarily Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for the love and concern for us, approving activities for the brethren as part of serving God. We promise to continue uniting with the Administration.” — With reports from Mhelmar Bernardo of INC News Section
